A busy weekend

Last weekend Elliott turned 1! I cannot believe that a year has already passed. My love for Elliott grows daily and I am amazed at how fast he is growing and learning. Justin and I are so blessed to have Elliott in our lives. His Birthday Weekend was jammed packed with activity. We had a party.

On Sunday we had Elliott's dedication at church and it was beautiful. Elliott was presented by good friends of ours Meagan and Greg Marcum and Terri Phelps read during the presentation. Here is what I wrote for the reading:

Even before Justin and I were married we knew that if we were ever blessed with a son, his name would contain the letter E and the name Michael, after Justin’s middle name. The letter E is symbolic to both of us. Justin’s grandfather’s name was Eck with an E and my grandfather’s name was Elmer. Both of our grandfathers played important supporting roles in our lives growing up. We felt as though they needed to be honored in some way. Originally, we decided we could simply name him Michael E. Lainhart. That actually stuck for a while until we decided he really needed a name and not a letter. Many names were discussed, but we kept coming back to Elliott which means “the Lord is my God
Our spiritual hopes for Elliott are that he will always remember that the Lord is his God and  that he will not view Christianity as a set of rigid rules but as a true relationship with the Lord. We want his faith to grow by asking questions and then take time to truly find the answers whether they be in books, people or deep within his soul.
In the past year we have come to realize the true importance of community and it does takes a village to raise children, with this being so, we ask the church as well as our family to help us guide Elliott’s relationship with Christ. We invite you to encourage him to ask questions about faith and what being a Christian is really all about. Lift Elliott up when he is unsure but give him space to grow. Lastly, help Elliott understand that it is okay to go against the grain and that what may seem popular is not always right.  Most of all we pray that he will be transformed by God’s love and show others that love.

Here are some pictures from the dedication.

Fun at the park

Mommy has more pictures of me swinging at the park. When she finds some time she will post the rest of them. She said she just had to get this one posted so everyone could see how rotten I am.

Visiting Savannah

Yesterday we all went to Savannah, Ga. It was a lot of fun and VERY HOT. We walked around on the cobble stones (very bumpy) down by the river and then walked the Historic District. For lunch we got to go to Lady and Sons. I ate all kinds of good food. Fried chicken, green beans, sweet potatoes and for desert I had banana pudding.

It was a really long day and I was so happy once I got to take a nap.

Swimming in the backyard

I have had a lot of fun this summer swimming in the backyard.

This is my puppy Wrigley. He is my best friend.

I am getting so big

It has been a while since I have posted anything on here so there should be a lot of pictures.

We recently went to see Dr. Katz for my nine month check up. I weighed 19 lbs and was 28 inches long. The doctor was very happy with how I am developing.

So you may be asking yourself what is the little bundle of joy up to these days. Well...ALOT. I am now pulling himself up on EVERYTHING!! I love standing in my bed and even scoots from side to side.

I can say Mama, Dada, and Ball. I love balls of shapes and sizes and colors. Mommy and Daddy gave me a soccer ball as a special treat after I got my shots. I am working on my third and forth tooth. My two front teeth! This has caused me to be a little grumpy but who wouldn't be. Right now my favorite foods are chopped up green beans, peaches, peas, carrots, cheerios, bananas, and even spaghetti. I am also crawling everywhere. There is no place in the house that is off limits. Mommy calls me her little swiffer, because I always get dog hair all over me. (These pictures are 8  month old pictures)

In July Mommy, Daddy, and me went to visit with Grand Pappy, Nanny, and Bubbles. While we were there I got to take my first trip to the beach. I had a really fun time.

I sat under the dome shade to help keep cool and played with my new stacking ups. Mommy and Daddy wanted to show me the ocean, so they carried me to the ocean.

I cannot say I really liked the ocean. The water was loud and the sand was wet.

The day ended happily. I cannot wait to go back to the beach.

Here I am at Nanny's house eating my toast. I love toast, I have been told I would like it more if Mommy would let me have some jelly on it. She is so boring sometimes.

Here are some pictures of me hanging out with my Grand Pappy. We had a lot of fun at his house, I hope to get to visit again real soon.

Here I am hanging out in my jumper with Daddy's hat on. Don't tell him but when he is not looking I like to chew on it.

Thank you for stopping by to take a peek at my adventures. Stop by again real soon to see what else I have been into.
